Ongoing: 3rd Thursdays at Tybee, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Tybee Oaks. Free, outdoor, public concerts.
February: Mardi Gras Tybee - Annual celebration of all this Mardi Gras, including a masquerade ball, parade, live entertainment, food and festivities.
March: Tybee Island Irish Heritage Celebration Parade. Tybee’s Irish families march along with local bands, bag pipers, floats, and more. The parade assembles at Memorial Park, proceeds down Butler Avenue onto Tybrisa Street, and ends on Strand Ave.
April: Annual Tybee Seafood Festival - Family-friendly culinary festival features a week of live entertainment, special guest performers, carnival rides, and attractions, and plenty of seafood! Don't miss the “seafood review” at Tybee’s Pier and Pavilion for local fare prepared by the island’s best restaurants and caterers plus live performances by local artists.
April: Tybee Beach Run. The run begins on North Beach with a "Kiddie Mile" starting later. All proceeds go towards the transportation costs for the Savannah campus Christian Medical Association's planned medical mission trip to Guaimaca, Honduras.
April: Annual Tybee Island Wine Festival - Fines wines and snacks, with live entertainment on the Tybee Island Light Station Ground. Proceeds benefit The Tybee Post Theater.
April: Annual Turtle Trot 5K Tybee Beach Run. This annual run marks the beginning of Coastal Georgia’s Sea Turtle Nesting Season and raises funds Tybee Island Sea Turtle Project. The event takes place in front of the Tybee Island Marine Science Center.
April: Sand Art Festival - Annual sand castle competition for students of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Awards are given for the best sand castles where categories include sand castle design, sand sculptures, sand relief, and wind sculptures. The public is invited to watch students as they work and view the results!
May: Tybee 500 Race - Watch the ships sail in as they complete the 500 mile catamaran race from Islamorada, Florida to Tybee Island, Georgia.
May: Tybee’s Annual Beach Bum Parade. Prepare to get wet! In this unique annual parade, the floats, often trailers or boats, soak on-lookers with water-throwing gear while spectators lined along Butler Avenue fire back with buckets, squirt guns, and hoses. The result is an all out water fight for all ages. Find post-parade activities at many of the local businesses.
June: Tybee Island Sea Kayak Races
June: Tybee Tour of Homes. Tour a variety of homes on Tybee Island. Lunch is included in ticket price.
July 4th Weekend: Fireworks on the Pier - Annual Independence Day fireworks at Tybee’s Pier & Pavilion!
September: Annual Labor Day Beach Bash - Live music and fireworks at the Tybee Island Pier & Pavilion.
October: Buccaneer Ball - Kicks off the 6th Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest. Live music, costume contest, and more at The Crab Shack.
October: Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest. Pirates of all ages flock to Tybee Island for an elaborate parade, costume contests, children's activities, and a Thieves Market. Pirate fare, grog, and treasures abound!
