While in the Golden Isles, I recommend enjoying some of the local flavors – fresh-caught seafood, real Southern barbeque, and Lowcountry favorites!

Here are a few suggestions to help you find the St. Simons Island dining experiences you're looking for:

  • Barbara Jean's – Casual Southern dining. Fresh, homemade cooking with variety of seafood, soups, sandwiches, and desserts for lunch and dinner. Excellent crab cakes, she crab soup, bread and iced tea. Located at 214 Mallory St.

  • Blackwater Grill – Authentic, fresh Southern fare in a casual atmosphere. Slightly higher prices for entrees, but most agree they're well worth it. Located at 260 Redfern Village.

  • Catch 228 Oyster Bar & Grill – A casual restaurant serving inexpensive oyster appetizers between 5-7pm, fresh seafood, and a relaxed, island feel. Located at Redfern Vlg # 100. Tel: 912-634-6228.

  • Crabdaddy's Seafood Bar & Grill - Serves grilled, blackened, steamed, fried or sautéed seafood in a casual atmosphere, including fresh catches of the day. Note that Crabdaddy's is only open for dinner. Reservations accepted. Located one block from Kind and Prince Resort.

  • Delaney's Bistro – An upscale bistro serving a variety of seafood, poultry, and beef. Located at 3415 Frederica Road.

  • Georgia Sea Grill – Features fresh seafood and cozy atmosphere. Prices are a little high. Very popular with locals, so reservations are recommended. Located in the heart of St. Simons Island Village. Located at 310 Mallory St. #B.

  • Iguanas Seafood Restaurant – A Jimmy Buffet-style island restaurant serving fresh, local seafood in a casual, fun setting. Located at 303 Mallory St.

  • Southern Soul Barbeque – The only barbeque restaurant on St. Simons, this spot consistently gets rave reviews (despite its humble appearance). Located right on the traffic circle between Demere and Fredrica.

  • Steamer's Seafood – A local favorite offering Southern-style fresh seafood and steak for lunch and dinner. Located at 100 Marina Drive. Tel: 912-638-6778.

Guests of the King and Prince Resort have access to that resort's Blue Dolphin Restaurant – a casual spot with spectacular views of the ocean. The Blue Dolphin is the only oceanfront dining spot among St. Simons Island restaurants. The resort also offers an extensive seafood buffet every Friday night and has a poolside bar and grill.

Among St. Simons Island restaurants you'll find both flavor and fun – whether you're dining in a romantic bistro or dancing to the sounds of Jimmy Buffet between bites. Use these recommendations to find your favorite dining spots on St. Simons Island!
