St. Simons Island Hotels & Vacation Rentals

St. Simons Island hotels include large, amenity-rich resorts and quaint bed-and-breakfasts. Choose your hotel based on its features and location – whether you want to stay right on the beach, on an inland golf course, or near the village shops and restaurants!

Each St. Simons Island hotel or resort offers a different experience from the others. Here are a few of the major accomodations options on the island – but while considering these options, also keep in mind St. Simons' bed & breakfasts for a cozy and romantic getaway!

  • King and Prince Golf and Beach Resort - The largest of the St. Simons Island hotels, this ocean-side resort offers every amenity you could ask for – beachfront location, five pools, including one indoors with a hot tub, Har-Tru tennis courts, and access for guests to The Hampton Club golf Course at Hampton Plantation. Rooms, suites, and 2 to 3 bedroom villas are available.

  • Ocean Lodge – This beautiful Tuscan-style free-standing hotel offers apartment-like rooms, ocean views, cooked-to-order breakfasts and complimentary bicycles. A small, roof-top pool may not be the best choice for kids who want to spend most of their vacation splashing and cooling off in a pool, but for a romantic retreat, the hotel feels like an escape to Old World Italy with the comfort of your own apartment.

  • The Sea Palms Golf & Tennis Resort is located on 800 inland acres on St. Simons Island. Though not breach front, it does offer expansive marsh views. Guestrooms, suites, and 1-3 bedroom apartments are available while you enjoy two outdoor pools, a children's wading pool, three 9-hole golf courses, two full service restaurants, a health and racquet club, three rubico clay tennis courts, and bicycle rentals to explore the island. Check online reviews at sites like TripAdvisor.com before you go – some guests have reported mixed experiences here.

St. Simons Island Bed & Breakfasts - A bed & breakfast is a romantic, homey way to experience St. Simons Island and offers an experience different from your standard beach resort. For a fun alternative to the St. Simons Island hotels, check out these bed-and-breakfast options:

  • Beach Bed & Breakfast – A beautiful Spanish-style Mediterranean inn overlooking the ocean. Enjoy breakfast on the front balcony looking out at the ocean.

  • Village Inn & Pub – A charming inn with nice ambiance, a beautiful courtyard, a pub for drinks, and a small pool. Note that the pub offers live music and tends to get lively, especially on Friday and Saturday nights which means you might hear some of that noise in your room, unless you're downstairs joining the party! About 1.5 miles to the beach, this Inn is situated next to the Village where you can walk to shops and restaurants.

Don’t forget – nearby hotel options also include the Lodge on Little St. Simons Island if you're looking for seclusion and a rich coastal environment and The Cloister on Sea Island if you're looking for exquisite luxury!

St. Simons Island hotels also include a few lower cost chains if you're looking for a low-frills getaway that won't break the bank.

St. Simons Island vacation rentals are a more private way to stay on the Island whether you're in a villa, condo or home. A rental is also a great idea for a getaway with a large group, say a family reunion at the beach!

A rental company located right on or near St. Simons can offer expertise on the island, its neighborhoods, and the properties themselves, whether they are villas, condos, or suites within the company's resort partners. Here are a couple local rental providers to choose from:

  • By The Sea Vacations: Vacation rentals ranging from small cottages to large homes are available for a few days or a few months. These rentals are located in The Village, East Beach and Oceanfront. Owner Kay Clarke is a native Islander with nearly thirty years experience.

  • Hodnett Cooper: provides rental properties including condos and residences, as well as suites within its partner hotels and resorts.

  • Georgia Coast Realty: Offering vacation rentals including ocean front cottages, homes and condominiums and rentals from The Village to the King & Prince, and East Beach.

Alternatively, you can find plenty of listings, often offered for rent directly from the property owners, at online sites like HomeAway.com or CyberRentals.com, among others.

Whether you check out St. Simons Island hotels or rent a villa of your own for your vacation, be sure to relax, have fun, and enjoy the beauty of this laid-back coastal island during your stay.
