Kiawah Island Restaurants
Kiawah Island restaurants offer something for every taste - whether you're stepping off the beach for a quick bite, or stepping out for a romantic evening on Kiawah Island!
Learn what the Kiawah Island restaurants are (and which have a dress code!) before you go so you can spend less vacation time deciding and more time enjoying!
In Freshfields Village: You'll see this new village just as you turn off Betsy Kerrison Parkway and can access it from the circle or from Kiawah Island Parkway. For casual fare, Freshfields is your best bet. Here are your options in Freshfields Village:
- Hege's Brasserie Francais Classique - French-inspired fare with seasonal ingredients.
- Java Java Light sandwiches and paninis, coffees and pastries.
- King Street Grill Sports bar, burgers, and nice views, but can get crowded and smoky.
- Ladles Homemade Soups Over 400 soups!
- Marble Slab Creamery Ice cream mixed with treats on a slab.
- Pizzeria Venti Authentic Italian pizza.
- Vincent's Drug Store & Soda Fountain An old-time soda fountain in a pharmacy serving burgers and more. The real highlight here is the old-fashioned ice cream. Most ice creams come in a tall sundae glass and their chocolate malt is unforgettable! I recommend a stop (or two!) at Vincent's for an old-time ice cream treat during your visit!
Inside the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island: Find more details on the Sanctuary's restaurants on our page about the resort.
Here's a quick summary of the Sanctuary's dining options:
The Ocean Room Prime Upscale steakhouse featuring expansive views of the ocean and excellent service. Be aware that the attire here is fairly formal - Men are required to wear a jacket to dinner. The Ocean Room is one of my personal favorites among Kiawah Island restaurants - it's a great spot for a special occasion!
The Jasmine Porch Beautiful room decorated to look an oversized Southern porch. Though more casual than the Ocean Room Prime, the food is wonderful and the service is equally good.
Lobby Bar Relax and grab a quick bite in this elegant sitting area or take it outside onto the patio.
The Loggerhead Grill Poolside dining, casual fare.
Beaches & Cream Quaint ice cream parlor.
Within Kiawah: Apart from the Sanctuary's dining options, there are several more Kiawah Island restaurants right on the Island. Be aware that some of these restaurants have a dress code.
The Atlantic Room Located on the Ocean Course, this elegant restaurant offers mostly seafood and spectacular views.
Tomasso at Turtle Point Located at the Turtle Point Golf Club, this "resort casual" restaurant features Italian fare.
Osprey Point Grill Located at the Osprey Point Golf Club, this casual restaurant caters primarily to golfers. Enjoy a sandwich or burger overlooking the alligators in the course lagoons.
Night Heron Poolside Grill & Bar Located beside the pool in Night Heron Park, the Kiawah Island Golf Resort's largest pool. Casual fare including fresh salads, local seafood, sandwiches, burgers and tropical cocktails. Tel: 843-768-2012.
The Market at Town Center Located in East Beach Village, this market is great for quick stop while biking through the Island. Offerings include daily specials, fresh sandwiches made to order, salads, and pizza. You can also pick up grocery items, beer and wine, newspapers, movie rentals, Kiawah logo apparel, and gifts here. Tel: 843-768-2775.
Shrimper's Casual family fun, steak and seafood in The Straw Market in West Beach Village. Tel: 843-768-2705.
Just Outside Kiawah:
Bohicket Marina This quiet marina just down the road from Kiawah Island is a great place to walk around, see the boats, and watch a gorgeous sunset. The marina contains a few restaurants, including:
Up Da Creek Great views, fresh seafood with Lowcountry flair, and family friendly, but the dιcor is a little stark. Go for the food and views, not the ambiance. Tel: 843-243-0512.
Fischer's Sports Pub & Grill - Cheese fries, stuffed jalapenos, BLT, burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and fried pickles. Tel: 843-243-0210.
Rosebank Cafι Authentic Lowcountry cuisine with a view of the marina and creek. Fresh seafood, grits, fried okra, collard greens, Hoppin' John, and more Lowcountry favorites! Tel: 843-768-1807.
Red Sky - The owner and executive chef here was formerly a chef at the Ocean Room in the Sanctuary until 2007. Red Skye has excellent, upscale cuisine, though unfortunately no coastal views from inside. Their fresh baked breads are a real treat - you can even buy a loaf to take home with you! Red Skye is located near the entrance to Seabrook Island, just down the road from Kiawah.
