Jekyll Island dining options are varied – you'll find everything from upscale Lowcountry brunch in a grand, historic dining room to family-friendly seafood right by the water among these Jekyll Island restaurants.

Here are a few of the island's culinary highlights:

  • The Grand Dining Room at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel: Beautifully restored, this Victorian-style dining room offers view of the club lawns and the Jekyll River. The Grand Dining Room offers three meals a day, but is renown for its Sunday brunch (reservations are recommended). At dinner, candlelight and a pianist set a romantic scene. Be aware that the restaurant has a dress code - men are required to wear jackets or collared shirts and slacks or appropriate jeans.

  • The Rah Bar: For more casual fare (and no dress code), stop by The Rah Bar. Located on the Jekyll Island Wharf across from the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, the Rah Bar is part of Latitude 31 (described below) and offers outdoor dining on the water, live music, and fresh seafood. At this fun spot, you'll get low-frills fare, including fish sandwiches and barbeque, with unbeatable views. Bring your receipt from the toll you paid when you drove onto the island as Latitude 31 and the Rah Bar will deduct that toll from your bill! Also, bring bugspray - when the tide is out, the no-see-ems are fierce!

  • Latitude 31: Located on the Jekyll Island Wharf across from the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, Latitude 31 offers casual Lowcountry cuisine. While owned by the same company as the Rah Bar, Latitude 31 gets less favorable reviews though most agree, the drinks are a highlight. Remember to bring your receipt from the toll you paid when you drove onto the island - Latitude 31 and the Rah Bar will deduct that toll from your bill!

  • Morgan's Grill: Located in the golf clubhouse, Morgan's Grill is an easy stop for a good burger or sandwich while enjoying the spectacular views of the golf course. Found at: 322 Captain Wylly Rd., Jekyll Island, GA. Tel: 912-635-4103.

  • Courtyard at Crane: Located in Crane Cottage, reminiscent of a beautiful Italian villa, guests enjoy a romantic atmosphere both inside and outside in a manicured courtyard with a large fountain. Less formal than the Grand Dining Room, Crane Cottage offers upscale lowcountry cuisine and plenty of seafood. If you plan to sit outside, a touch of bug spray is a good idea and be aware that they are closed Friday and Saturday nights. I enjoyed an excellent dinner at Crane Cottage, where the beautiful building and grounds made our meal a truly elegant experience.

  • Café Solterra: Located near the Sea Turtle Center, this small café is great for a quick breakfast stop for a delicious pastry and Starbucks coffee or an afternoon Hagen Daas ice cream. They will also prepare a picnic lunch for you at your request. Found at 371 Riverview Dr., Jekyll Island, GA. Tel: 912 635-2600.

  • Lowcountry favorites, fresh-from-the-water seafood, and more await your palate in Jekyll Island restaurants!
