Inns & Hotels in Savannah Georgia
Hotels in Savannah Georgia range in size, price, and offerings but the City's true treasures are its unique inns scattered throughout the City's historic sections.
If you are spending a few days exploring, you have many excellent hotels to choose from. The inns, though, are the city's real treasures. A bed and breakfast or inn is a great way to really immerse yourself in the southern elegance that defines the City.
Here are a few recommendations:
The 1895 Inn: Victorian-style bed & breakfast near downtown. Consistently rated one of the best places to stay in the city. Be aware that the inn owners have a dog – a friendly member of their family, but a potential problem for allergy sufferers.
Amethyst Inn: One of the few inns in Savannah with a pool to cool off in, this beautiful old bed & breakfast spoils guests with wine and hors d'oeuvres every evening, fresh cookies, and a prime location.
Azalea Inn & Gardens: This victorian inn also has one of the rare pools among Savannah B&B's. The pool is surrounded by a beautiful garden behind the main house. A friendly inn-keeper, a few adorable yorkshire terriers, and richly appointed rooms make this inn both comfortable and memorable. I had a wonderful stay here in October 2009. While it's across town from the river and the shops and restaurants near that end of town, the Azalea Inn is on a quiet street just two blocks from the stunning Forsyth Park.
Green Palm Inn: This tiny inn (only 4 rooms) offers comfortable luxury just steps away from one of the city's beautiful public squares.
The Olde Savannah Inn: A charming bed & breakfast with 18th century French influence in décor and a lovely garden, located just two blocks from Forsythe Park. Again, note that these innkeepers also have a dog, so allergy sufferers beware.
The city has inns for every taste and budget, but don't forget that several of the larger chain hotels are available too. In particular, the Marriott Savannah Riverfront is one of the few hotels located right on the Waterfront.
Whichever inn or hotel you choose, you'll want to be nearest to the sights that interest you most, whether that's the busy Waterfront area or the historic squares and buildings. You'll also want to be immersed in the atmosphere and charm of Savannah. The inns above will certainly offer that sense of place you're looking for.
From a towering, luxury hotel over the water to a quiet B&B in a historic home, Savannah GA hotels offer a nice range of sizes and styles to choose from for your Savannah vacation.
