Amelia Hotel at the Beach: Located just across from the beach, this hotel offers spacious rooms, complimentary breakfast, and an outdoor pool.

Amelia Island Plantation: This hotel consists of two areas – The Amelia Island Inn & Beach Club and the Villas. The Inn features a number of pools and particularly, kiddie pools, so it's where many families choose to stay, though some reviewers complain about noise levels through thin walls. The Villas are privately owned but managed by the Plantation. Many units have access to private pools restricted to just a few condo units and many are oceanfront. Bikes, golf carts and even Segways are available for rent through the hotel.

Amelia Island Surf & Racquet Club: This property offers 1, 2, and 3-bedroom condos for rent with the added convenience of 2 outdoor pools, 4 tennis courts, and a fitness center all located right on the beach.

Elizabeth Pointe Lodge: A unique oceanside, Nantucket-style, nautical themed hotel built in the 1890s. Enjoy an oceanfront breakfast every morning, hors d'ouerves and wine every evening, and the sense of being in your own, elegant, seaside home. Beach chairs, umbrellas, towels are all available for guests use and bikes can be rented from the hotel for a nominal fee.

»If you're looking to stay right on the beach and can swing the price, this is my recommendation among Amelia Island hotels. Almost a cross between a hotel and a bed and breakfast, the Elizabeth Pointe Lodge offers elegance, comfort and amenities. However, if you'd prefer to stay within walking distance to the shops and restaurants of historic Fernandina Beach, try a B&B like the Addison on Amelia or another of the ones below.

The Addison on Amelia: This beautiful home boasts a lush inner courtyard and calming fountain within walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and marina of Fernandina Beach. The rooms are well-decorated, clean, and comfortable with luxurious towels and sheets. Complimentary bicycles are available for guests' use.I had a wonderful stay here in October 2009! Bob and Shannon are terrific hosts who made us right at home. We enjoyed chatting with them over wine at the nightly (and complimentary) happy hours and our homemade breakfasts every morning on the porch overlooking the garden. Truly wonderful in every way!

Amelia Island Williams House: A beautiful Victorian inn built in 1856 that recalls gentile southern living. With 10 rooms, guests can stroll through the gardens, sip wine on the verandah and enjoy a two-course breakfast every morning. The inn is walking distance to the Amelia Island historic district and a short drive to the beach. Bikes and beach necessities are provided.

Hoyt House Bed & Breakfast: Located in the Historic District of Fernandina Beach, this romantic inn offers gourmet breakfasts, an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, and proximity to many unique shops and restaurants. The Hoyt House building and grounds are beautiful, but be aware that it is one a major road and you might hear a little traffic noise.
