The island's 13 miles of pristine beaches have the characteristic firm-packed sand found on all the sea islands, making it ideal for relaxing, jogging, and biking as well as for toddlers who have difficultly walking in loose, deep sand. Sea shells are also plentiful on Amelia's beach.

As you traverse the island, keep an eye out for the blue and white signs indicating beach access points, many of which are found right along South Fletcher (highway A1A).
